Gold AwardAcorn Lodge has once again been awarded 4 Star and Gold Award

We are delighted to once again receive these awards from enjoyengland.com.

Here is a snippet from our assessment:

“Acorn Lodge at Thomas House continues to be awarded a Four Star self catering rating. The overall score and that of the majority of the key sectional areas sit in a high position within the Four Star grading band and excellent housekeeping standards are a credit to the owners. A Gold Award has again been achieved and is well deserved. It is understood that Mrs Shakespeare, the owner with whom the visit was completed is committed to sustaining the rating level and Award in the long term.

It is evident that the owners continue to work hard to ensure that the Lodge is immaculately presented for each set of new guests. In the public areas upholstery was all crumb free and high and low surfaces pristine.

Attention to detail in the bedrooms includes the presentation of the linen and accessories. Fittings such as taps and mirrors are gleaming and shower heads were all scale free. In the kitchen equipment is particularly clean and kitchenware was all spotless.

Highlight

Externally the Lodge presents to a high standard with decking kept clean for safety. The property enjoys some very good views. An excellent welcome is provided and care is clearly taken with the content and presentation of the guest information. Guest feedback is taken into account and the excellent recliner chairs in place are a result of this process. Lighting in the public areas in particular is well positioned and the log burner provides supplementary heating. The new log basket is very manoeuvrable. The new curtains throughout present well and blackout in the bedrooms has been improved. Bathroom flooring provides a superior finish and the en suites have been effectively planned. New kitchenware items have been purchased including new excellent saucepans and new beverage tray pieces. Housekeeping standards continue to be a credit to the owners.”
