Clive and I wish you all a very Happy Easter, friends, relatives and guests old and new.

Lovely to see the sunshine here in Shropshire, Hope You all manage to see BBC Countryfile on Sunday 14th April, also the Antiques show after from Erigg National Trust.

23rd April is St.Georges day.

St. George is the patron saint of England, a peek into history until a few centuries back St.George was considered to represents, such as honesty and courage. Around the 17th century, St. George’s day used to be marked by a public holiday, but not any more.

On this day 23rd April 1564 we celebrate William Shakespeare birthday and the day of his death age 52 years later.

Hope the plum tree that is in blossom has escaped the frost and will produced some victoria plums this September.

 

 

The plant pot was given to us by Margaret and Graham in 2018 and we are stillenjoying all the lovely flowers. It is situated at the top of the decking and we see it every time we pass.

 

Top Tip from a recent visitor

“A pretty place to stretch your legs is Arley. You can visit the “olde worlde” station and see the steam trains and then back down the hill to the footbridge across the river and try the Arley circular walk. You end up coming back through the gardens of the arboretum and then past the all too tempting tea room and ice cream shop!”
